On the 10th and 18th of February, the Life Care Children and Women Empowerment Initiative (LCCWEI) conducted two follow-up visits under our Out-of-School Scholarship Program. These visits were not merely routine monitoring exercises — they became powerful reminders of why consistent support, guidance, and partnership with families truly matter.
One particular family stood out in a remarkable way.
Years ago, this family became the very first household enrolled into the LCCWEI Out-of-School Scholarship Scheme. At the time, the children were only in primary school. Today, we returned to meet young ladies — not just growing in age, but in purpose, discipline, and vision.
A Family That Chooses Growth
Perhaps the most inspiring quality of this family is their openness to learning and their willingness to faithfully apply every form of therapy, guidance, and counseling provided by LCCWEI. Many families receive advice; few consistently practice it. This family does — and the results are visible.
During our review, we observed steady academic improvement reflected in their school reports. Two years ago, our team identified certain academic gaps and advised their mother, Ms. Vivian, to engage a moderate home tutor to reinforce their learning.
She listened. She acted. And the impact has been extraordinary.
Since implementing this recommendation, the students have shown drastic academic improvement. According to the school principal, they are now ranked among the most outstanding and intelligent students in the school. Their results reveal a clear pattern — consistent progress rather than occasional success.
Growth Beyond Academics
Education at LCCWEI goes beyond classroom performance. We believe a child’s development must be holistic — intellectual, social, and personal.
During a previous visit, Counselor Rose Ume conducted a training session with the girls on personal hygiene. When we returned this February, the change was unmistakable. Their grooming, organization, and daily habits reflected not just instruction, but understanding and discipline. Their mother expressed deep gratitude to both Counselor Rose and the organization for the transformation she now witnesses in her children.
We also noted improved organization in their academic records — school documents, receipts, and report forms were carefully filed and maintained. This attention to order demonstrates growing responsibility and maturity.
What These Visits Remind Us
The two February visits reinforced a truth we continually observe:
empowerment works best when organizations and families partner together.
LCCWEI can provide educational support, counseling, and mentorship — but lasting transformation happens when caregivers actively participate. Ms. Vivian’s commitment has played a critical role in her children’s progress. Her cooperation turned guidance into results.
These young girls are not just beneficiaries anymore. They are becoming role models — proof that when a child is supported early, guided consistently, and surrounded by care, they develop into confident, purposeful individuals.
Moving Forward
The progress we witnessed on both February 10th and 18th encourages us to continue strengthening our programs. The Out-of-School Scholarship Scheme is not only keeping children in school; it is shaping futures, restoring dignity, and building responsible young women who will contribute positively to their communities.
For LCCWEI, this family represents more than a success story.
They represent hope — the kind that grows when compassion is combined with commitment.
And this is why we continue.
