The United States and registered in Nigeria and Togo plans to distribute food and personal protective materials against COVID- 19 in Alayi, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State. The first phase of LifeCare palliative materials distribution in Alayi will commence this Saturday in Umuonyere and Amaokwe communities. Beneficiaries will be pregnant women and the elderly who would be given face masks, hand gloves, and sanitizers, and made to wear them before food distribution to them.
LifeCare President, Mrs. Lucy Ucha Evans speaking from her U.S. base said her NGO will expand activities from her hometown Alayi to other parts of Abia and when resources permit would execute projects all over Nigeria. She said that LifeCare already has the blueprint for the renovation/upgrading and management of existing maternity in Alayi into a state-of-the-art facility.
Mrs. Evans has a masters degree in Social Work, with a focus on mental health therapy. She is a final year doctorate degree student in Public Health.
