As part of our commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of the less privileged, Lifecare Children & Women Empowerment Initiative (LCCWEI) embarked on a special end-of-the-year program to express gratitude for the blessings we’ve received throughout the year. On Monday, December 11, 2023, our dedicated team of social workers had the privilege of visiting the Royal Palm Orphanage Homes in Iyana Ira, Lagos, Nigeria.
Royal Palm Orphanage Homes holds a special place in the hearts of many as it has been providing a home and hope for over 15 years to street children without parents, rescued from the streets of Lagos, Imo state, and Abia state. The visionary behind this noble initiative is Mrs. Loveth Philips, a compassionate widow who, following a divine visitation during a period of illness, was inspired to establish a charity home for abandoned children. With no children of her own, Mrs. Philips courageously began this remarkable journey from her hospital bed after a profound dream revealed a child in need.
During our visit, LCCWEI not only brought essential food items to sustain the orphanage but also conducted a specialized training session for the caregivers. The training aimed to equip them with valuable skills on effectively managing and nurturing the children in their care. Our social workers also engaged with the children, providing free psycho-social services to address their emotional needs.
As we spent time interacting with the children, we couldn’t help but commend and encourage the dedicated caregivers for their selfless sacrifice and the commendable job they’ve been doing. A special prayer session and thanksgiving ceremony were organized, creating a deeply emotional atmosphere filled with joy. Some of the children were overwhelmed with happiness, and their emotions overflowed during this heartfelt session.
Mrs. Loveth Philips, the heart and soul of the orphanage, expressed her gratitude to LCCWEI, acknowledging that the provided food items were an answer to their prayers. The timely intervention by LCCWEI reaffirmed the belief in the power of collective efforts to make a positive difference in the lives of those who need it the most.
At Lifecare Children & Women Empowerment Initiative, we remain dedicated to our mission of bringing hope, joy, and empowerment to vulnerable communities. The visit to Royal Palm Orphanage Homes was not just a gesture of kindness; it was a shared moment of love, compassion, and solidarity that will resonate in the hearts of all involved for a long time to come. We look forward to continuing our journey of making a lasting impact and spreading smiles in the years ahead.
