As part of the vision and mission of the Lifecare Children & Women Empowerment Initiative (LCCWEI), we are committed to empowering children to preserve our future generations and secure a sane society at large.
The present-day socio-economic issue in Nigeria and Africa as a whole is worsening. The problem of hunger, political uncertainty, job loss, corruption, banditry, use of children as child soldiers and suicide bombers, kidnappings et al. call for an intervention to secure our children. These are issues that require urgent intervention for a society that plans to evolve in the future. In all these, the place of children remains paramount.
Hence, to tackle these problems from the foundation, LCCWEI decided to launch advocacy and training programs in schools within the Ojo area in Lagos. We target over 600 pupils and students within primary and secondary schools. They will be coached on how to make legitimate career choices, offering them free career counseling and training, equipping them to move beyond the mindset of just choosing a career or vocation. Pupils and students who will undergo the entire process will be able to identify the problems they are designed to solve in life through their temperaments, subject choices, and passion.
The need to protect children is key if Africa wishes to survive as a continent. The LCCWEI social workers were available to train and offer guidelines to these younger ones, to enable them to avoid the mistakes of dreaming to earn money through fraud and the culture of internet fraud, which is fast ravaging the social system.
