The LifeCare Children & Women Empowerment Initiative (LCCWEI) family was delighted to share Christmas joy with women and children of Alayi, Bende LGA, and Abia States, Nigeria by carrying out the 6th phase of palliative food distribution on Saturday, December 18, 2021.
The needy families had a reason to smile when they stocked up food for Christmas. The LCCWEI palliative outreach program targets those that need support to survive the excruciating economic hardship in the country. It is LCCWEI’s mission to support those in dire need of basic needs making this palliative distribution exercise a great achievement.
The initiative distributed assorted types of foods and personal protective gear against coronavirus to pregnant women, widows, the elderly, mentally challenged individuals, and women in these communities. Beneficiaries wearing assorted multi-colored clothes graced the event resembling Christmas decorations with assorted colored ornaments. One would not be wrong to say LifeCare kicked off Christmas festivity in Alayi ancient kingdom. The communities that benefited from LCCWEI’s sixth phase palliative exercise were Ezi Alayi Elu, Ezi Alayi Agbo, and Ogwumabiri.
Covid-19 protocols were observed during the exercise where both staff and beneficiaries were made to wear face masks, wash and sanitize hands. Beneficiaries went home with all they were given including face masks.
The LCCWEI President, Dr. Lucy Evans speaking to reporters from her U.S. base said that the initiative will take more giant strides in humanitarian services in Nigeria as resources become available.
From the LCCWEI family, we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy new year 2022.
