On May 16th, 2025, Lifecare Children and Women
Empowerment Initiative (LCCWEI) proudly partnered with Mum to Mum Initiative
and the Child Protection Network, Ikeja Division, to celebrate the International
Day for the Boy Child at Platform Schools in Alimosho, Lagos.
This important day was
an opportunity to spotlight the needs and challenges faced by boys in our
communities. Together, we organized an impactful and interactive session
focused on educating, empowering, and encouraging young boys to embrace their
identities, understand their responsibilities, and take charge of their
futures.
Our team of trained
facilitators provided free training on vital topics tailored
specifically to the needs of the boy child, including:
·
Personal Hygiene
– Teaching boys the importance of cleanliness and healthy habits for lifelong
well-being.
·
Mental Health
Awareness – Addressing emotional intelligence, stress management, and how
to seek help when struggling.
·
Sex and Sexuality
Education – Providing age-appropriate, values-based information to promote
healthy relationships and informed decisions.
·
Human Trafficking
Prevention – Raising awareness about the tactics used by traffickers and
how to stay safe.
· Self-Esteem and Confidence Tips – Encouraging boys to value themselves, build resilience, and dream big.
The atmosphere was filled with curiosity, learning, laughter, and most importantly—hope. We believe that when boys are equipped with the right knowledge and support, they grow up to become responsible men who respect themselves and others.
At LCCWEI, we are committed to building safe, informed, and empowered communities. By investing in both girls and boys, we create a balanced and inclusive society where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
We thank our partners and the amazing staff and students of Platform Schools for their warm welcome and participation. Together, we are raising a generation of confident, respectful, and purpose-driven boys.
